We implemented a project to strengthen and secure the terrain at the entrance to the second window of the Aleko tunnel, located in the Batak dam area, near the town of Peshtera. The project was commissioned by the Dams and Cascades Enterprise.

The site is of increased complexity due to the presence of unstable rock and soil masses, as well as overgrown vegetation, which created a risk to the infrastructure and operational safety of the tunnel facility.

Within the framework of the project, the section was cleared of trees and vegetation, cleared of unstable and dangerous stones, mechanized re-slope and profiled. The slopes were secured by a system of double-twisted composite mesh, anchored to the base with soil nails.

The activities were carried out in complex terrain conditions, requiring precise geotechnical implementation and strict control over the stability of the slopes. Particular attention was paid to securing the area at the entrance to the tunnel facility in order to prevent landslides and falling materials.

By combining methods for mechanical demolition, non-explosive demolition and engineering reinforcement with a composite mesh, sustainable stabilization of the terrain and long-term protection of the infrastructure site was achieved.

During the implementation of the site, our teams demonstrated experience in performing specialized geotechnical and reinforcement activities in difficult-to-access and risky areas with high engineering complexity.
