INSTALLATION OF BARRIERS AGAINST FALLING STONES
VERTICAL GROUP Ltd. provides professional installation of elastic safety barriers for protection against falling rock blocks, landslides and avalanches. The systems are designed to withstand high dynamic loads and are available in different classes of energy absorption capacity – from 250 to 5000 kilojoules, depending on the characteristics of the terrain and the degree of risk.
Elastic barriers are modern engineering facilities designed to protect areas with an increased risk of collapses and natural landslide processes. They are constructed of high-strength steel mesh, anchors and energy-absorbing elements, which work together to effectively contain and control the falling masses.
The installation of barriers is carried out by workers at height, specialized in working using the rope access method, which allows for safe and effective construction of the systems in steep and difficult-to-access terrain.
CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION TECHNOLOGY
Еластичните предпазни бариери представляват комплексни системи, съставени от няколко основни елемента, които работят съвместно за поемане и разпределяне на кинетичната енергия при удар от падащи скални маси или лавини. Основните компоненти на бариерните системи включват:
Steel meshes
Made of high-strength galvanized steel, the nets serve as the main element for capturing and containing falling rock blocks.
Anchor systems
Anchors ensure the reliable attachment of barriers to the rock or soil base. They achieve the necessary stability and resistance of the structure when exposed to large dynamic loads.
Steel ropes and energy absorbing elements
The ropes connect the individual structural elements and allow controlled flexibility of the system. Special energy-absorbing devices absorb part of the impact and reduce the load on the nets and anchors.
AREA OF APPLICATION
The installation of elastic safety barriers is applied in a number of infrastructure and natural areas where there is a risk of falling rocks, landslides or avalanches, such as:
- Roads and railways–– to protect transport infrastructure from falling rock blocks and landslides;
- Mountainous and tourist areas – when securing ski resorts, tourist routes and mountain roads;
- Landslide and collapse zones – to limit and control the movement of earth and rock masses;
- Settlement areas in mountainous regions– for the protection of residential and public buildings located near risky terrain;
- Torrent gullies and watersheds – for retaining rock and soil masses transported during heavy rainfall;
- Avalanche-prone areas– to limit and control the movement of snow masses in mountainous areas.
