VERTICAL GROUP LTD replaced gutters and elements of the roof drainage system of a residential building in the city of Sofia using rope access and industrial mountaineering.
The project included dismantling compromised gutter elements, installing new vertical branches on the facade and cleaning the entire roof drainage system.
The total length of the replaced gutters is 182 meters.
Due to the specifics of the building and the need for rapid execution, the activities were carried out using industrial alpinism via rope access. This method allows for:
work without the need for scaffolding;
faster execution;
minimal load on the space around the building;
lower organizational costs;
access to hard-to-reach facade sections.
Working via industrial alpinism is particularly effective for the replacement and repair of facade elements on high-rise residential and administrative buildings.
Within the scope of the project, the following were performed:
dismantling of old and compromised downspouts;
installation of new vertical drainage branches;
reinforcement and fixing of facade elements;
inspection of the drainage system;
cleaning of roof gutters and catch basins.
The timely replacement of damaged drainage elements is important for preventing leaks along the facade, water retention, moisture damage to facade walls, damage to plaster and thermal insulation, and the development of corrosion and structural problems.
The use of rope access for replacing downspouts allows for:
quick organization of work;
safe access to high facades;
work in confined spaces;
minimal impact on the building’s occupants;
efficient execution without heavy lifting equipment.

All activities were carried out in strict compliance with safety measures and through the use of:

The work was performed by qualified technicians with experience in facade activities and industrial alpinism.

Thanks to industrial alpinism, the activities were completed safely, quickly, and without the need for scaffolding, which allowed for minimal impact on the occupants and the environment.
