Meshing of rock slopes
VERTICAL GROUP Ltd. performs professional meshing of rocks and rock slopes for the purpose of long-term protection of terrains, infrastructure and facilities threatened by falling rocks and landslides. The activity is key to stabilizing risky slopes and preventing incidents in areas with active erosion processes.
We work using the rope access method (alpine method), which allows safe and effective implementation in steep, high and difficult-to-reach areas without the need to build a skeleton or use heavy machinery. This approach is particularly suitable for securing rock slopes near roads, railways, buildings and facilities.
When implementing systems for securing and strengthening rock masses, we use certified high-strength steel meshes, anchors and reinforcing elements from leading European manufacturers. The solutions are designed according to the geological characteristics of the terrain, the height, the slope of the slope, as well as the expected loads.
IMPLEMENTATION TECHNOLOGIES
Depending on the geological conditions, the slope of the rock slope and the degree of collapse risk, various technological solutions are applied during the meshing process to stabilize the rock massifs:
CURTAIN NETWORKING
In this technology, the protective steel mesh is anchored at the top of the rock slope and freely descends along its surface. The system allows for the controlled movement of small and medium-sized stone fragments, which are retained at the base of the slope, without reaching the roadway or infrastructure. This type of mesh is suitable for high rock slopes with surface weathering and frequent falls of small stones.
DEEP ANCHORAGE NETWORKING
In the presence of unstable rock blocks or the risk of more massive collapses, a deep anchoring system is applied. The steel meshes are secured by anchors injected into the stable part of the rock massif, which ensures complete reinforcement of the slope. This technology allows for the absorption of significant dynamic loads and prevents the separation of large rock blocks. If necessary, the system is combined with steel rope meshes, anchoring ropes or protective barriers.

AREA OF APPLICATION
Rock meshing and rock slope reinforcement are widely applied in the construction and maintenance of various infrastructure and industrial sites where there is a risk of falling rocks and landslides.
The main areas of application include:
- Roads and railways – protection of transport infrastructure from falling rocks and rockfalls;
- Construction sites – securing terrain and construction sites near unstable rock massifs;
- Tourist and mountain areas – protection of eco-trails, tourist routes and areas with high traffic;
- Urban environment–securing residential and public buildings located near risky slopes;
- Mining industry – protection of dams, canals, spillways, etc.
- Hydrotechnical facilities – in the construction and maintenance of dams, reservoirs and canals for stabilizing banks and rock slopes.
