Cleaning and inspection of the air slope of the Iskar dam wall

Cleaning the stone cladding, the rapid flow and its wing walls from expansion - 5900 m²;

All activities are carried out using the rope access method (alpine method) by qualified technicians certified for rope access.
Vertical Group Ltd. carried out a specialized inspection and cleaning of the surface elements of the Iskar dam wall, commissioned by the National Electric Company EAD. The activities cover key areas of the facility with high importance for its operational safety.
The site includes the air slope of the dam wall, the joints and the concrete lining slabs, as well as additional elements such as the bottom of the spillway, the wing walls and the abutments of the facility.
Before carrying out the technical inspection, the surfaces were thoroughly cleaned of vegetation, moss and accumulated dirt. Subsequently, a detailed visual inspection and photography of the structural elements were carried out in order to identify potentially compromised areas.
All activities were carried out by a team of certified technicians for working at height via rope access (industrial mountaineering), which allowed safe access to the hard-to-reach areas of the air slope without the need for scaffolding or additional structures.
The results of the inspection were systematized in a detailed report to the client – NEK EAD, including an analysis of the condition of the facility and a visual illustration of the identified defects.
The project demonstrates the experience of “Vertical Group” OOD in performing specialized activities for the examination, cleaning and inspection of hydrotechnical facilities via rope access, while strictly adhering to the requirements for safety and technical precision.
