INSTALLATION OF METAL STRUCTURES THROUGH ROPE ACCESS – “TSANKOV KAMAK” DAM

Design and construction of stairs in entrance shafts from the crown of the "Tsankov Kamak" dam wall and a staircase with a walkway to the main outlet exit from the energy extinguisher side

Dismantling of existing galvanized steel ladders in entrance shafts from the crown of the dam wall in blocks L10 and R12;

Production, delivery and installation of new stairs with landings and railings – 2 pieces of galvanized steel structures with a total weight of 3,338 kg;

Reconstruction of entrance hatches, including reinforced concrete covers and galvanized metal elements with a total weight of 1,104 kg;

Manufacture, delivery and installation of inclined stairs and walkways with railings for access and inspection to the exit of the main exhaust pipe – structure weighing 2,654 kg;

Installation of an additional galvanized steel ladder for access to the roof of the main exhaust pipe – 412 kg;

Production and installation of steel structures for canopies over the entrances of the shafts – 2 pieces with a total weight of 250 kg;

Implementation of polycarbonate roofs and walls for sheds with a total area of ​​24 m2.

The project was implemented on an engineering (design and implementation) basis and included the construction and modernization of facilities for access to key elements of the infrastructure of the Tsankov Kamak dam. The project client is the National Electric Company EAD – a strategic entity with high requirements for safety, reliability and quality of execution.

The project includes a complex of activities related to the replacement, fabrication and installation of steel structures, ensuring safe access and servicing of entrance shafts and facilities to the main outlet of the dam wall.

As part of the implementation, new stairs with platforms were manufactured and installed, entrance hatches and reinforced concrete covers were rebuilt, new inclined stairs and walkways with railings for access to the main outlet of the dam.

All metal structures are made of galvanized steel, ensuring high corrosion resistance and long-term operation in conditions of increased humidity and aggressive environment.

Given the specifics of the site and the difficult-to-access terrain, part of the installation activities were carried out using rope access (industrial mountaineering), which allowed for efficient organization of the work process and minimal impact on the existing infrastructure.

The project required precise coordination between the design, production and installation stages, as well as strict compliance with all regulatory requirements for safety and technical control. Thanks to our accumulated experience and expertise, we successfully implemented the site, which is of high complexity and importance for the country’s energy infrastructure.
