“Vertical Group” Ltd. implemented a project to strengthen rock slopes and secure road infrastructure in the section between Bov and Rebarkovo on the republican road II-16. The client of the project is “Infra Expert” Ltd.
The project was implemented in an area with pronounced mountainous terrain and an increased risk of rock slides and falling rocks, which creates a serious prerequisite for road accidents. The main goal of the implementation is to stabilize the rock slopes and increase traffic safety by applying effective geotechnical solutions.
Within the framework of the project, activities were carried out to collapse unstable rock sections in order to remove compromised and potentially dangerous rock masses. A total area of 31,765 sq.m was processed, which ensures preparation of the slopes for subsequent strengthening.
After the surfaces were leveled, high-strength steel protective nets were installed on the same area, designed to contain and limit the movement of individual rock fragments. The net system was additionally strengthened by anchoring to the rock massif, with a total of 1,750 anchors installed.
For additional stability and even load distribution, galvanized steel ropes with a total length of 14,650 m were laid, which reinforce the net structure and guarantee its long-term effectiveness.
All activities were carried out using rope access (alpine method) by certified technicians for working at height, which allows safe and precise execution in hard-to-reach rock areas without the need for heavy mechanization.
